In Conversation with Nature Minister Mary Creagh

This APPG meeting will be a valuable opportunity to hear directly from the Minister about the Government’s plans for reforming National Parks and National Landscapes, and how these reforms will support ambitions for nature recovery, climate resilience, and sustainable growth. APPG members and other Parliamentarians will have a chance to put their questions to the Minister on key issues, including:

  • Delivery of landscape-scale nature recovery and biodiversity targets
  • Public access, health and wellbeing, and connecting more people with nature
  • The role of Protected Landscapes in housing, planning and land use change
  • Supporting farmers and land managers through Environmental Land Management schemes, Biodiversity Net Gain and private finance
  • The contribution of National Parks to local and national economic growth
     

The discussion will be attended by representatives from landscape bodies alongside young people who are actively engaged in shaping the future of these landscape, offering a lively and wide-ranging exchange of views.
